Cordy’s encourages you to attend any auction from which you wish to purchase so you can accurately view and bid live within the auction room; if however this is not practical then Cordy’s can supply you with a condition report and arrange various absentee bidding options. Buyers are reminded that the highest bidder at the fall of the hammer is entering a binding contract.
Here's a brief guide to buying from Cordy's. Click here for our detailed terms & conditions, or get in touch with us if you have any questions that you can't find answers to here.
Bidders will need to register prior to the auction; they will be given a bidding number which they must show to the auctioneer if they are the successful highest bidder on any lot or lots. A clear intention to bid should always be made.
Instructions to bid at sales are accepted by Cordy’s and are carried out free of charge. Lots will always be bought as favorably as allowed by other such bids, bidding in the saleroom and any reserve. See ‘Conditions of Sale’.
With adequate notice Cordy’s can arrange to phone you prior to a nominated lot(s) so long as the associated estimate is around $1,000 or more. Landlines are preferable. Cordy’s accepts no liability for lack of connection for whatever reason. Bidders are reminded not to hesitate during this process as the auctioneer will not be showing preferential treatment.
The purchaser shall pay to John Cordy Limited (Cordy’s) a premium of 12.5% of the hammer price together with G.S.T. on such premium at the current rate, effectively adding 14.375% to the hammer price.
Buyers must pay in full within 48 hours of the auction by EFTPOS, cash, credit card, bank cheque, telegraphic transfer or personal cheque if known to Cordy’s. Overseas cheques will not be accepted.
Once payment has been completed all goods are to be removed immediately (within 48 hours from the auction). Carriers’ details are available at our office. Various packaging, courier and freight options are available at the buyer’s expense.
