a central gold detailed cartouche painted with a splendid white peacock surrounded by exotic roosters in a palace courtyard, the other with a country scene, gold sinuous acanthus leaf side handles, open work lid and raised on round spreading foot. Rosenthal mark to bases. (one lid with hairline crack). 330 x 540mm.
