on socle base and with impressed marks to the back. Sculpted by Mary Thornycroft (1809-1895) and commissioned to commemorate Louise’s marriage to the Duke of Argyll. Note: Louise was the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and Thornycroft was a noted Victorian sculptor. 260 x 400mm.
