octagonal form, the body decorated with figures in relief of Teutonic knights including Siegfried, Gunther, Hoffer, busts of queens and maidens decorate the rim, the lid with scrolling floral tendrils, the base has twisted tree roots and the four feet supporting the chalice are in the form of tortoises.
