'Tour of Inspection Rangitoto 1943', watercolour on paper, signed and entitled. 310 x 210. Provenance: Purchased Mollers Gallery, Auckland. Bessie Christy was an Auckland artist and exhibiting member of the Auckland Society of Arts. She also taught at Takapuna Grammar School from 1935-40 and was an exhibiting member of the Rutland Group. During WWII she served as a driver in the Women's Auxilliary Army Corps and held the rank of Bombadier. Her works were included in the 'Artist's in Uniform' Exhibition held in Wellington in March of 1944. $4000-$6000
