This rare, large format work features a profusion of native flowers including mistletoe, manuka, clematis, kowhai, kaka-beak, rata, orchids and daisies.The Daughter of Francis Dart Fenton, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, (from whose estate Auckland Museum purchased the Maori carved pataka Te Oha); Edith shared her father's interest in the cultural activities of the period, including wood carving (a collaborative Maori carved chair in the Museum Collection). She exhibited flower studies with the ASA between 1886-1914, in a special exhibition at the N.Z. & South Seas Exhibition in Dunedin in 1889 and at the NZAFA in 1893. $2500
