A rare New Zealand colonial heavy 15ct. yellow gold bangle made by E.J.Thompson
relief cast hinged belt and buckle form with, a single red stone (almandine garnet) set to the top, stamped maker's name in full and gold mark. Weight 90.6gms. Note: cast bangles are rare, the gold content being at least three times higher than other standard hollow examples. This maker's mark is unrecorded in Winsome Shepherd's book, 'Gold & Silversmithing in Nineteenth & Twentieth Century N.Z.' 1995. E.J. Thomson was based in Great King Street, Dunedin

the tapered cylindrical body with large conforming cover with ebonised turned wood finial, the spout with bead finial, hanging within the tubular frame with overhead integral handle, the flared circular base dished to receive the burner, all parts in silver, the burner and pot stamped with maker's name and silver mark. Note: Petersen's Ltd is noted as the third period beginning in 1912 of the original Benjamin Petersen firm that began in 1863. 1291gms. Height 380.
A large scale model of the clipper ship 'Canterbury'
1242 tons, built in Glasgow in 1874, she brought thousands of immigrants to New Zealand. In purpose built glazed, kauri framed display vitrine raised on table base. Once the property of the 154 year old Auckland Club and displayed in it's Shortland Street rooms this model moved to the Northern Club when the former merged with it in 2010, subsequently it was sold. A rare autograph group of the complete 14 man 1953 British Mount Everest Expedition Team including Tenzing Norgay. After climbing Everest in May 1953 they returned to London in July on a BOAC Argonaut Speedbird airplane
on that journey the signatures of the entire team were secured on a BOAC postcard. In August, Hillary and George Lowe toured NZ performing speaking engagements, in Wellington they stayed at the home of John Pascoe the mountaineer and author. During that visit Lowe gave Pascoe’s 11 year old daughter Anna the postcard. In a Sydney Herald newspaper column of the time (Anna's uncle was a sub-editor) the postcard and the excitement of the circumstances of the visit are mentioned. Further information available.
