Lot Details

acrylic collage, signed, dated 2001 and information to reverse. 840 x 660mm. Note: Fuller was a Hawkes Bay artist and illustrator. Born in Otaki. Graduated Canterbury School of Art 1951. He achieved many awards for his work, including The Louise Lonsdale Prize for Life Drawing, The Queen Elizabeth II Art Award in 1966 and 1970, and The Norsewear Art Award in 1987. He completed numerous design commissions, including murals, civic sculptures, New Zealand postage stamps and children's books. He taught art from 1953 at Hastings High School, Hastings Boys High School, Hastings Girls High School and Karamu High School as well as adult evening classes. His works were regularly exhibited in Hawkes Bay and throughout New Zealand and are held in private and public collections in both New Zealand and overseas. Provenance: ex the Fuller estate
