"Aquatint based on a drawing of Te Puta o te Paretauhinau Pa at Mercury Bay, Coromandel Peninsula. The drawing of the pa is by Herman Diedrich Sporing, Sir Joseph Banks' clerk; the canoe is copied from a drawing by Sydney Parkinson, the official artist aboard the Endeavour".
