the fine shell inlay of a bird attempting to catch a beetle upon a thorny floral spray, the one piece hardwood tray of possibly zitan wood, the raised border finely carved with leafy and berry scrolls on a basket weave type ground, angular scroll carved handles. Minor restoration. 640 x 400mm.
