Lot Details

of traditional form. The elegant tapered blade with over-lapping lobes to the back, the full stylised figure of Tu (God of War) carved to the front with arched back, the weku mask to the butt with open mouth and pointed tongue. Serrated paua shell ring inserts. Note: Charlie Raponi Wilson (Ngati Rangitihi, Tuhourangi) has been carving for over 30 years, this example being an early work by Charlie and believed to be about 30 years old. L.360mm.
