manufactured by Newton Shakespeare and Co., c.1900, fitted with brass hardware, with original paper labels. The base with small wooden wheels. (Old repair to one side). The Star Of India the world's oldest iron hull sailing ship was built in 1863 in the isle of Man and is now a museum in San Diego. It is assumed these trunks had an early association with the ship. 670 x 360 x 260mm.
