A rare Meiji period Satsuma bowl by Makuzu Kozan,
Lot Details
the interior finely painted with an eagle perched on a pine tree; the exterior painted with pine tree branches. Gilt seal mark to base together with a paper label from the Federation of Japanese Pottery Association. Makuzu Kozan set up a workshop in Yokohama in 1871 to produce ceramics for export to the European and North American markets. 220 x 80mm.
