Lot Details
set of four wood engravings, 1944/1993, on Japon nacre, each titled, dated and numbered 8/30, printed in 1993, the edition was never completed. Each 110 x 50mm. Provenance: Private collection Auckland. Note: Buckland-Wright was born in Dunedin. A self-taught artist, he moved to the UK to study history and architecture before deciding to focus on art, becoming a draughtsman and later a master printmaker. After WWII, he taught at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and the Slade School of Fine Art.
