Lot Details

the lid with raised oblong agate panel. Engraved with a cross on a stepped plinth and 'A Gift To John McGlashan 6th March 1839.' L.83mm. 98gms. Note: It is possible that this John McGlashan is the same of Dunedin fame, however if so, he was still based in Scotland where from 1831 to 1853 was a commissioner for proofs in the Sheriff's Court.
