26 x 35cm Acquisition/Provenance: Acquired from Tribal & Tribal, 7/25/2006 Note: In a 16 July 2020 post on his @nzartcurator Instagram account, Ron stated: 'This teak carving was discovered by my friends Andrew and Rosie Bogle. It comes from the Javanese island of Madura, Indonesia. Made about 100 years ago for a colonial Dutch business (a bank). The mix of design styles is immediately recognisable. The very high relief indicates it was made for a room with a high ceiling.'
