c.1920-30. H.9cm. Cat. Note/Ref.: Neville Ritchie observes that hexagonal sided 'ginger jars' are 'unknown from any archaeological context in New Zealand' but that unprovenanced examples are found in museum and private collections claiming a goldfields connection. He also suggests their appearance in New Zealand 'almost certainly postdates 1900, if not 1920. Origin/Date: Asia East Asia, c.1920-30
