no. 2157, with brass body, mahogany case and silvered circle dial. The top with bone plaque named: 'James How - successor to G. Knight & Sons, London'. The circular adjustable base with three adjustable feet. 190 x 120 x 240mm. Note: Used to measure the vertical component of the earth's magnetic field.
