A very large and heavy carved white marble horses head replica of the 'Head of the Horse of Selene',
Lot Details
the original marble dates to 438-432BC and is a detail from the east pediment of the Parthenon. It depicts one of the horses that drew the chariot of Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon. The original is housed in the British Museum in London. 815 x 620mm
