Lot Details
the fluted hollow double walled planished body richly decorated in high relief with iris florals and foliage. Raised on three bamboo legs with fine sinuous bamboo connecting bar . Maker's mark of Konoike (c.1880 - 1921) and the Jungin (pure silver) mark. Some dents to body. H.105mm. 260gms. Note: The Jungin mark which means pure silver (950+) was only used during the Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). Konoike’s firm was based in the great trading port of Yokohama near Tokyo, his items were exported to Europe and especially to England, where in London they were retailed by Liberty & Co.
