mixed media, signed and dated 1987 lower right. A note by the artist has been affixed to the image by the vendor, 'Artwork = Hand coloured photocopy design for Ministry of Women's Affairs poster 1987 on Fabriano paper'. 595 x 530mm. Provenance: the vendor was a member of a working group, tasked to establish the Ministry of Women's Affairs and its Māori women's secretariat. Claudia Pond-Eyley was commissioned by the CEO of the Ministry to provide a poster (for which this is a preliminary painting) which represented Māori and Pakeha women standing together - a Treaty relationship. Note: Archives New Zealand notes this artwork is a potential public record due to its close relationship to the final poster design created for the Ministry of Women’s Affairs. Although ownership of the painting can pass between our vendor and the purchaser without issue, Archives New Zealand has asked to be notified of the details of the new owner once the sale is completed, for their records.
