Staff Nurse Esther Maud Tubman, N.Z. Army Nursing Service 40th reinforcements travelled to England between 10th July and 10th September 1918. Died 18th September 1918, in the Salisbury Hospital of cerebral meningitis. Only 600 women's death plaques were issued in WWI, of which only 15 were to New Zealanders. Unfortunately, a square has been crudely cut out of the side. Provenance: Ex. the Dave Oldham estate collection.
