An American coin silver three-piece tea service, by Edward Rockwell and John Wolfe Forbes. Rounded oblong shape raised on ball feet, each piece decorated with a floral frieze and with gadroon rim and foot ring. Rockwell was an active silversmith, based in New York City, from circa 1803 - 1846; Forbes similarly worked in New York in the early 19thC. The pot stamped Rockwell twice, the sugar box and milk jug stamped L.W. Forbes twice and with his star/anchor marks. 1420gm. Teapot H.195mm.
