an exceptional example given its completeness and condition with all canine teeth and most others present, the lower jaw missing the back right coronoid section, a fine tree root remains grown through the brain cavity. L.170mm. Provenance: Found by our vendor c.1975 Kawhia Harbour foreshore area, exposed when a bank section had eroded due to a high tide. Note: Kuri is the Maori name given to the extinct Polynesian dog introduced to New Zealand from East Polynesia in the 13th century.
