in old box with Japanese calligraphy. Provenance: Collected in Japan some 20 years ago. Reputedly Tang dynasty, circular with scalloped edge, the reverse finely cast in relief with love birds amongst feathery scrolls. Old verdigris finish. Dia.128mm.
