cast in relief and engraved with extensive mountainous landscapes and buildings, signed Gorô Saburô (五郎 三郎), eventually Gorosaburo XI. The Kanaya family founded their foundry in Kyoto (Kioto) in 1581. The artist here, Kanaya Gorosaburo XI (1870-1928) was from the eleventh generation of the family of artists in Kyoto. The firm's bronze wares are represented in many prestigious collections, including the Rijksmuseum, National Victoria Museum in Melbourne, and Philadelphia Museum of Art. H.247mm. W.323mm.
