This colourful design a response to Pacific tapa was inspired in the 1990s when a trade delegation of Hazara weavers visited New Zealand and purchased a copy of the book 'Pacific Tapa' by Roger Neich and Mick Pendergrast. This carpet was gifted to a NZ company for assistance in setting up a large rug weaving enterprise in Ghazani Province. Recent events in Afghanistan have forced the closure of this and the relocation of the Hazara involved.
