flat rounded circular form with pierced suspension lug showing evidence of a second hole to the end. L.40mm. Note: Such rings were placed around a bird’s leg, particularly the kākā parrot, which was used as a decoy to capture wild birds of the same species. Māori also wore these rings as neck or ear pendants. Registered Y22248.
