painted red, the top half featuring a carved weku-type face with heart shaped mouth, wide double spirals to lips, protruding tongue and notched teeth, paua inserts to eyes, plain base. 300 x 1040mm. Provenance: Ex. Queen Victoria School for Māori Girls, Parnell, Auckland, which opened in 1902. Registered Y13866.
