the large central H-form flanked by scrolls and zig-zag border elements consistent with motifs used by central New Guinea tribes. Coloured with red, black and white pigments. H.1400mm. W.500mm approx. Provenance: The Jorgen Lotz collection. Purchased from an estate collection c.2007. Acquired by that collector in PNG c.1980 when working for Shell Oil.
