Lot Details
four teardrop-shaped legs supporting an arched rectangular seat. Approximately three-quarters of the seat is split. Two later support brackets have been fitted beneath the seat, each secured with two bolts. Structural repairs evident, stabilising the form. 455 x 205 x 150mm. Provenance: Auckland private collection. Acquired from the vendor s grandmother s close friend who emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1900s. Previously the property of Miss M. Hoole, who bequeathed the seat to the vendor s grandmother. Miss Hoole is also recorded as having donated items to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Thence by family descent.
