Lot Details
crouched male figure with arms crossed resting on knees. The head with a tall crown, the shoulders augmented with sprouting forms, all set on a roughly cylindrical base. Acquisition/Provenance: John Perry, 2018 Cat. Note/Ref.: In a post on his @nzartcurator Instagram account dated 5 October 2021 Ron recorded that: John Perry allowed me to be the Kaitiaki of this remarkable ancestor figure from Kalimantan. The weathered patina is original. According to John the sculpture belongs to the first quarter of the 19thC. Dimensions: H.43cm
