untitled still life, oil, signed and dated 1959. 310 x 430mm. Note: Stones was an English figurative and portrait sculptor and painter. He arrived in New Zealand in 1955 where he undertook commissions of public figures including Jean Batten and Prime Minister Peter Fraser.
