'Nebula', gouache on paper, signed and dated 1959. Entitled and detailed verso. 670 x 500mm. Note: Read was most well-known for his TV presentation of the 'Night Sky' which ran on a monthly basis from 1963 and remained on Kiwi screens until 1974 (regularly featuring backdrops painted by Read himself). Read exhibited regularly with the Academy of Fine Arts, Wellington.
