Lot Details

Good dark metal work finish to barrel. Lock medium brown grey. Clean bore. Woodwork a pleasing light colour (may have been cleaned). Ladder-type rear sight graduated to 800 yards. No bayonet bar. Lock marked ‘Crown over VR’ and ‘1861 Tower’. Brass trigger guard. Good strong action complete with correct clearing rod. Brass butt plate marked 'VM L 32778'. A tidy example.
