Lot Details

made at his Leach Pottery St Ives, Cornwall. The four radiating designs based on the famous Horse Eye Japanese design. Potter's and pottery impressed marks. H.170mm. Note: The ‘horse-eye’ pottery design (known in Japan as uma-no-me zara) is highly celebrated. It is a traditional Japanese folk-art pattern that originated in the Seto and Mino regions of Japan during the late Edo period.
