brushed ring of blue glaze with central painted aubergines. 1970s. Dia.315mm. H.50mm. Note: Made in the town of Mashiko-yaki in Tochigi Prefecture. Traditional utilitarian pottery that gained international fame through the folk art movement in the 1920s, championed by potters like Shoji Hamada.
