Lot Details
collected in the field, 1973, Karawari River, Hunstein Mountains. Collected by patrol officer (Kiap) Laurie Bragge. He was the one who led the patrol, joined by David Attenborough, in 1971, resulting in the video/film “A Blank on the Map”. Garra is a sacred object, kept in the men’s house and used during initiation ceremonies. Has been repaired. 880 x 200mm
