Lot Details
NE of the main island of New Guinea. Possibly from late 1800 to early 1900. Obsidian was mined mainly on Manus and Lou Islands. It was used for making spear points, knife blades and other cutting utensils and weapons and has a tradition which goes back a few thousand years. L. 270mm
