In the Tansu book, these Ko-Dantsu are described as small personal chests, some with locking safes, some with locking bars. The box is either cedar or the softer paulownia. Always from the mid to late Meiji Period, 1868 to 1912. Origin: Fukui Prefecture/ Kanazawa/ Northern Kyoto Prefecture.
