Antique 14K Intrauterine Birth Control Device. In use from the end of the 19th C through to early 20thC. A cushion shape disk wishbone pessary by Ideal marked '14K' and with maker's name 'Ideal'. The forerunner of the modern day IUD. These birth control devices were sold and advertised as pessaries. They were placed in the cervix with the stem inside the uterine cavity. A very rare find.
