8-inch radius brass framed sextant` circa 1840s` marked on the arc (maker indistinct) of Commercial Rd London` the handle of rarely seen marine ivory with knurled grip; polished brass and inlaid silver scale from -5º to 150º; silver vernier divided 0-10 with swivel magnifier; milled screw adjuster and clamp; 4 shades; 3 horizon shades; fitted in square mahogany box with 3" telescope and two lenses.
