Lot Details
Both striking full length portraits. One of Honiana Te Puni (unknown - 1870), a Te Ati Awa chief of high lineage who was descended from Takarangi and Rau-Mahora. The portrait is full length, with the chief depicted wearing a dark feather cloak, with a longer garment beneath with a decorative geometric border. Te Puni has a white beard and white hair and carries a mere in his right hand. The portrait is from Barraud's 'New Zealand Graphic and Descriptive'. 8 3/4 x 14". The other similar of Rangi Haieta.
