Lot Details
with needle gnomon from centre of hinged circle calibrated in Roman numerals to show hours, folding quadrant scale calibrated in degrees in arabic numerals. Upper surface engraved with foliate design. Compass recessed in base with silvered dial with original needle and glass. At the front a plumb bob for horizontal alignment. Inscribed underneath 'Johan̄ Schrettegger in Augsburg'. In leather covered card case. *Johann Nepomuk Schrettegger (1764-1843),
