rectangular shape with rounded corners, recessed handles, Bramah Patent lock (with key); maker's label on drop down green velvet and leather file inside hinged lid. Fitted in two levels with nine silver topped containers, a set of four cut throat razors, razor strop, and a selection of small bone handled utensils. The lid set with a cartouche engraved with a collared talbot-hound passant and the initials GTG**. 310 x 230 x 135mm. * Thomas Briggs; cabinet maker, writing desk and dressing case maker (fl.1819–45) Addresses given at 20 Newington Causeway, 1819–23, and 27 Piccadilly, 1829–35 and 1845. ** possibly the crest of George Troyte-Chafyn Grove, Esq., of North Coker House, Yeovil, Somers., and Benville Manor, Corscombe, Dorchester.
