Info with sword reads: Sword is a Wakizashi made in the Koto era so sometime before 1596. The swordsmith was a very good one judging by the forging pattern of the steel. The mountings or 'koshirae' are from the Satsuma Rebellion period - 1877. It is typical that old swords were re-mounted several times during their lifetime...
