Photojournalist Maggie Gould has photographed some of the most influential people and events around the world. Her portrait of Dame Whina Cooper is held at Te Papa - the national museum in Wellington - and she captured perhaps the most enduring images of the 79-day land occupation at Moutoa Gardens in Whanganui. Her work has helped define the spirit of a nation.
