Note: The Battle of the Nile, also known as the Battle of Aboukir Bay, was a significant naval victory for the British Royal Navy, led by Admiral Horatio Nelson, against the French fleet in 1798. The battle, fought in Aboukir Bay near Alexandria, Egypt, resulted in the near-total destruction of the French fleet and had profound strategic consequences.
