54mm case, with inner 18ct gold dust cover, hallmarked Chester 1899 by Benson Brothers (John & William H Benson), watch case manufacturers, Wood Street, Liverpool. Floral chased and engraved case bezels; engraved monogram to back EHJ. Movement signed 'M. J. Russell, Chronometer Maker, London, 12189. ¾ plate keyless movement with lever escapement, hacking slide to stop and start seconds at II on band. White enamel dial with sunken centre signed; chapter ring with Roman numerals, minute and 300 indices, Arabic numerals at 5 minute marks. Gold hands, blued centre seconds. 144gm
