51mm case hallmarked London 1898, by JWB Ld. with gold fittings - winder bow, hinges and olivettes. Half hunter hinged cover with blue enamel Roman numerals. The 3/4 plate movement with lever escapement, signed J. W. Benson, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London. Best London Make. By Warrant to H. M. The Queen'. Numbered H7699. (Benson’s top movement with overcoil, cap jewels to escapement). Off-white enamel dial with blued steel hands and centre seconds. Roman numerals, rail track minutes and 360 divided outer scale.
